Create your very own homemade comforter doll in this digital workshop hosted by local doll maker Palm&Fig.

The workshop will begin with a short grounding meditation to settle into our bodies, before moving on to making a soothing scented doll using upcycled fabrics from around the home.

Required materials:

- Needle
- Thread
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Tape measure or ruler
- Dried lavender flowers, leaves or any calming essential oil
- 2 pieces of soft fabric e.g. brushed cotton (this is a great chance to upcycle old fabric e.g. duvet covers, dresses etc.)
- 1 piece measuring at least 36cm x 36cm
- 1 piece measuring at least 25cm by 20cm
- Cotton jersey fabric at least 15cm x 15cm (e.g. old t-shirt or any stretchy fabric) this can be dyed using teabags and red onion skins to create darker skin tones
- Sheep wool 50g (If unavailable, use cotton wool or upcycle the stuffing from pillows, old toys etc.)

The stitches we'll be covering are simple and suitable for beginners.

You will need to prep beforehand by cutting out the two pieces of fabric, and dying the cotton jersey fabric if desired.

This event is free to join but if you'd like to show your thanks to Palm&Fig then you can donate to them via Yalla Hub, a social enterprise that supports entrepreneurial migrant womxn in the UK.
